UK produce — what's in season
A glance-able calendar of British fruit & veg. The bright band of each ring is its UK peak — cheapest,
freshest, best-tasting; the faded band is when it's still around from store or late crop. The red line is today.
Filter to fruit or veg to make the rings readable.

Peak vs available: peak months are the classic British season — that's when supermarket produce is most
likely to be home-grown, cheap and good. Faded months mean it's still sold (cold-stored like apples and roots, a late
crop, or glasshouse) but often past its best. Almost everything is also importable year-round, so "in the shop"
and "at its best" are different questions — this wheel shows the latter.
Always imported (never UK-seasonal), so not on the wheel: bananas, oranges & other citrus, pineapple,
mango, avocado, kiwi, most year-round salad tomatoes and peppers out of season.
Months are approximate and vary by year, region and weather. Data from
the British Dietetic Association
and Hubbub's month-by-month guide .
Built with the same data-driven SVG wheel as the flowers guide — see README.html.
